ABOUT US

Amanda McDonald is the President and Lead Meteorologist of Flour City Weather. She was born and raised in Rochester, NY. Amanda graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelors of Science in Meteorology. She has interned for the National Weather Service and The Weather Channel. Amanda has also been an on-air meteorologist at NBC, CBS and Time Warner affiliates across the country.  She has worked at News10NBC in Rochester, NY since 2009 as a part time meteorologist. Amanda holds the highest certification as a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist from the American Meteorological Society.

 

Amanda has forecasted every type of weather including - hurricanes, snow storms, ice storms, tornados, thunderstorms, and flooding. She is an accurate forecaster with over 19 years of experience.

Steve Seman joined Flour City Weather in 2018 as a lead forecaster and consultant for high-impact weather situations. Steve graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelors of Science in Meteorology. He is an award-winning weather forecaster with more than 19 years of experience in weather analysis and forecasting. Steve serves as the Director of Online Programs and is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Meteorology and Atmospheric Science at Penn State University. 

Steve serves as the lead faculty member in Penn State’s online Weather Forecasting Certificate program offered through the University’s World Campus. He has also served as an on-camera meteorologist for Pennsylvania’s weather magazine show, Weather World on WPSU-PBS and the Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN). Steve's has also written forecasts for The New York Times.
